A plate of juicy, garlic-filled steak is definitely the most sought-after delicacy on the table. Each bite is tender and juicy, with just the right amount of seasoning. We share two ways to make steak chunks. When served, drizzle with extra garlic butter and dip it in.
How to Make Steak Chunks with an Air Fryer
We love the taste of cooking steak chunks in a cast iron pan, but an air fryer makes just as delicious steak chunks. To make the air fryer steak pieces, preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Follow step 1 to prepare the steak pieces. Place the steak chunks in the oil. Place the steak pieces in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the steak pieces are golden brown and pink in the center. Serve on a plate. Prepare garlic butter as instructed in step 3, drizzle over the steak cubes and sprinkle with chives.
What Dish to Go with Garlic Steak
These steak nuggets are delicious on their own as an appetizer, but they can also easily be turned into a full meal. We like to serve with mashed potatoes or baked baby potatoes, as well as cooked vegetables and vegetable salads like green beans or broccoli.
Ingredients
- 11/2 pound sirloin or loin steak
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 garlic cloves, sliced
- 1 tablespoon chives
Steps
Prepare the steak
Let the steak sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Cut into pieces of about 1 inch (about 2.5 cm). Season with salt and pepper.
Cook the steak
Heat a 12-inch thick iron or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Pour in the olive oil. Place the steak pieces in the skillet and in batches if needed (do not crowd the skillet). Fry for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown but still pink in the middle. Remove the steak pieces from the frying pan and keep warm. Remove from heat.
Make the sauce
Wipe the frying pan with a wet paper towel with a clamp. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and saute until fragrant, about 1 minute. Drizzle over the steak. Sprinkle with chives.
